I’ve had so much fun this week in Hilton Head hanging out with Mason. He knows more about lizards than anyone I know. And he’s always careful to release them to go back home to their families, as he tells me.

Kenny B’s, New Orleans Style Food In Hilton Head Island.
My friend, Joy Limbach, took me to her favorite restaurant in Hilton Head, SC. It was so good it was worth the 6 hour drive to get here. The music is loud and the walls and decor even louder. But the food is so good people stop talking and just eat!!

A German Restaurant worthy of its name in Lexington, Kentucky.
We have been to Germany several times and this is the best restaurant I’ve ever found in the USA that tastes and feels like you are actually there. As we sat at one of the little tables with our friends Bob and Evelyn Barnard, who had taken two tours in Germany while with the army, we enjoyed reliving our visits over there and tried to use the few words we remembered. The first time we ever ate jagerschnitel was in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. We had been driving all day and by now it was dark and we were very hungry. There were no fast food places and not many restaurants to choose from. Finally in the dark we saw lights from windows of a restaurant I can’t remember the name of. We parked the car and walked a short distant and when we opened the door there was music and singing and dancing and everyone was so happy to see us. It was like they had been expecting us to join their party and we were running late. What a fun evening and a perfect way to end our day of travel.
Bush Beans has a long history and great pie!
I enjoyed our afternoon in Chestnut Hill eating country food, shopping the General Store and eating pinto bean pie that tasted like pecan pie. It’s so easy to make. You should try it.
